American Airlines / Arriving

When American Airlines launched its new branding and identity, McCann helped them capture epic footage of the all-new aircraft livery on the just-released Boeing 777-300 aircraft. In a 3-day shoot across the Southwest, renowned aerial DP Hans Bjerno (‘The Dark Knight,’ ‘Inception’) chased the 777-300 with a specially-designed Lear Jet outfitted with stabilized cameras.

Looking through this library of footage, I could see there was a compelling visual story there that could be told simply, through images, and with the right piece of score — a brand vision film that conveyed the majesty of flight and the stunning new design of the aircraft. I quickly connected with the creatives, and together we got to work.

The result? We put together a dynamic, cinematic piece that thrilled the head of American Airlines. So much so that he made it the video that plays as soon as you sit down in your seat on the airplane.

On every flight… all over the world.
